The Medical Billing and Coding Academy is designed to train students to perform clerical and clinical duties for physicians. The clerical duties may include receiving patients, scheduling, and billing. Clinical duties may include preparing patients for examination and/or treatment, obtaining pulse, blood pressure, and temperature and administering medication. At the completion of the program, the student may be eligible to take the Certified Medical Assistant Exam. Employment for medical assistants is projected to grow 29% within the next 5 years.
