Mr. Edward R. Smith started his career with M-DCPS in 1993 as a special education teacher. He has served as a teacher, assistant principal and principal at the middle and senior high school levels. Mr. Smith is a proud graduate of the University of Florida and is currently completing his doctoral studies at Florida International University. His last assignment was as principal of Miami Springs Senior High School. Through his leadership and positive collaboration with peers, Miami Springs Senior witnessed an increase in the graduation rate every year he led them as principal. As the principal of J.C. Bermudez Doral Senior High School, Mr. Smith has high expectations for student achievement and success!

Mrs. Yanela Iribar began her career with M-DCPS in 2016 as a special education teacher. Throughout her career, Mrs. Iribar has worked in a variety of school settings, including Country Club Middle School, Miami Springs Senior High School, and J.C. Bermudez Doral Senior High School. She has demonstrated a commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs and has served as the Department Chair for the Special Education Department at J.C. Bermudez Doral Senior for four years. Mrs. Yanela Iribar currently holds a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. She is excited to contribute to the school community, creating a nurturing and equitable environment for all students as the Assistant Principal at J.C. Bermudez Doral Senior High School.
