Mr. Edward R. Smith started his career with M-DCPS in 1993 as a special education teacher. He has served as a teacher, assistant principal and principal at the middle and senior high school levels. Mr. Smith is a proud graduate of the University of Florida and is currently completing his doctoral studies at Florida International University. His last assignment was as principal of Miami Springs Senior High School. Through his leadership and positive collaboration with peers, Miami Springs Senior witnessed an increase in the graduation rate every year he led them as principal. As the principal of J.C. Bermudez Doral Senior High School, Mr. Smith has high expectations for student achievement and success!

Ms. Katrisha Smith

Ms. Katrisha Smith has been employed by M-DCPS since 2006 where she began her career as a special education teacher. In 2016, Ms. Smith was promoted to Assistant Principal at Miami Springs Community and Adult Education Center. During her tenure there, she held the responsibilities of supervising professional development activities, mentoring teachers and expanding student recruitment activities. She currently holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and master’s degrees in Cognitive and Behavioral Disabilities and Educational Leadership. Ms. Smith is passionate about promoting academic achievement and growth for all students as the Assistant Principal at J.C. Bermudez Doral Senior High School.
